One man’s trash is another man’s parts car.
This is a 1987 Peugeot 505 V6 that was meant to participate to a destruction derby.
Luckily, the Peugeot self preservation instinct kicked in in the form of a rear trailing arm that broke (that’s why there’s no wheel there). So they didn’t manage to break it completely. I’ll go more into detail when I’ll document the teardown.
We put it on the trailer by putting the back on a palette and using a forklift for forward motion while I was sitting behind the wheel to steer it onto the trailer.

Damn seems such a shame to use a 505 in a demolition derby. There’s plenty of Corsas that deserve to be destroyed.

And Mondeos, C-Classes and whatever else. Why one would use a 505 is beyond me.
It’s a good thing some of its parts will be saved to keep other 505s on the road.

And a V6 too man... As much as I love the turbo models I would love to find a clean V6 with a manual transmission stateside. My first car was a 305, my second car a 405 and if you forget about the 05 Mustang GT and the grand marquis my 3rd Peugeot needs to be a 505.
It is a 100% impossibility though. And I have a wish equally as big for some classic muscle. Glad you can save it so it can save other 505's!

I personally think I’m none David Tracy, but clearly you’re compensating for me!

I don’t really get it either. If I’m going to destroy a rare-ish car, I’m gonna check if there’s a crowd for it first.
My dad already confiscated the radiator, for some strange reason, the radiator in this 505 has the second circuit that’s normally in automatics. It’s just not plugged to anything. My dad has a 505 GTD auto that had a front impact, so it needs a front bumper and a radiator, check, and check.

Yeah manual V6s are quite rare. Turbos might be faster, but it’s no sports car either, so the slower but more refined V6 is fine for me.
It sure is no match to some old muscle car, but that’s the car I grew up with :)

I’m glad I can help :)

Thanks, I started the teardown, there are some nice parts to save from it

I just love the styling. And honestly, with too much money that engine bay is large enough for a nice V8 too... Just imagine a wild v8 with a quiet exhaust. It would be a hoot!

I dream of doing this, but France is pretty restrictive regarding this kind of things
